I heard about Shaan Punjab Dee through the Bhangra circuit via social media
Dancing, watching/playing sports, playing video games
The coach of my team is Prabh Saini. Three positive things he would say about me are; the ability to cooperate with teammates, consistent discipline and the ability to constructively critique ideas.
Tell us about your coach. Did you learn anything except dancing from him/her that helped you in life?
“My coach has given me countless valuable teachings but the one that has helped me the most comes from his attitude. My coach carries great dedication and passion towards Bhangra, which allows him to prosper while motivating his peers Adapting to this mindset and using it towards other aspects such as school, friendships, and family has lead me into achieving my goals faster and more efficiently.”
I have represented Shaan Punjab Dee as a dancer, organizer and attendee at various events. As a dancer, I actively dance at performances booked by clients, competitions (Bruin, Bhangra Arena). Also, I have represented Shaan Punjab Dee as an organizer at Bhangra & Giddha in the 6ix, and at a WWE event. Likewise, I represent the team while viewing/spectating other teams, and in my day to day life.
A time I stepped out of my comfort zone was while preparing for Bhangra Arena. It was my first competitive live performance and required a lot of attention. While preparing, I ate foods I would not usually eat, as well as exerted and moved my body significantly more than I had in the past. I was unsure of my capabilities towards either of those things but accepted the task, stepped out of my comfort zone and was able to put up a respectable performance.
The most challenging goal that I have achieved is balancing Bhangra and school. Both, Bhangra and school are two time demanding parts of my life that I cannot succeed without. I take both seriously, and was able to balance the two by not procrastinating and using my time effectively.
My best performance was Bhangra Arena, as it most showed signs of maturity as a dancer
My favourite segment is the freestyle intro at Bhangra Arena.
I often spend my spare time, studying for school, surfing the web, and playing sports.
If I could wave a magic wand, a problem in the world that I would solve is ageing. I would eliminate the negative effects of aging so that I can prolong my physical abilities and endlessly enjoy the company of loved ones.
My goals with SPD are to bring more awareness to Bhangra, improve as a dancer, and to grow as a team.
Yes, because believe it or not it’s better to invest time in achieveing goals with a team that shares the same passion as you instead of playing video games 24/7.
Shaan Punjab Dee is a support system built of brothers that helps me with every aspect of life. Regardless of the time or place, I know my teammates have my back and will come to my rescue as I would to theirs.
