My coach is Prabh Saini. He is more than a coach for me. He is like my elder brother. He taught me bhangra and how to live life in Canada. He is my mentor ,whenever I need something for e.g, an advice or anything like food or company, he is always there for me.

I represent SPD at events and I am also ready for future competitions. I would have started my journey of competitions but because of covid it has been delayed. I will surely be attending the next comp our team decides to go to. I also learnt video editing so I edit videos for SPD as well now.

After joining the team I got intense training for bhangra and after 3 months I started performing at gigs. During training there were times when I had to follow orders that were hard to because I didn’t have enough stamina but sooner than later I was in sync with the team and overcame challenges. I remember we did around 7 gigs in 3-4 hours and we kept going on and on every week. This was the official and professional starting of my journey with Shaan Punjab Dee.

A challenging goal was to join Shaan Punjab Dee while living in India. It was a dream/goal to join the team at any cost. I planned before joining the team that I will be making a lifetime commitment with SPD and I will be doing my best for the team. I simply didn’t give myself any other option and stayed focused. After arriving in Canada, it did not take me too long to express my love for Bhangra to my inspiration, the one and only coach of SPD, Prabh Saini. Once I started attending classes I knew I would get somewhere and I guess it’s always the beginning that’s challenging. I would recommend everyone with the same goal or passion as me to take the first few steps and leave the rest in the hands of Shaan Punjab Dee. People talk about their bond for a reason.

My goal with SPD is to connect as many people as I can with our culture. I would love to see people test positive at all times with Bhangra fever.
